Basra Investment Commission moves to new building in Basra city center

Baghdad (AIN) –Basra Investment Commission has moved to the new building in Basra city center.

The head of BIC, Khalaf al-Badran, stated “Huge efforts were made in Basra province to assign the new place as a location for the Commission due to its various merits.”

“The new location, which is close to Basra Provincial Council, Basra Governorate building and the other departments, will facilitate the performance of the staff of the Commission to accomplish their tasks in addition to the participation of the investment companies,” he added.
“The rehabilitation process is being done to make the new location as a cultural site that brings the investments which suit Basra and its economical significance,” he noted.
He also announced holding economical conferences in order to bring the foreign and local investment companies to be acquainted with the free land of Basra and to find the suitable projects in all fields.
The previous location of BIC was in al- Barathia Presidential palace which is one of the four palaces in Barathia district.
BIC was formed in Basra province according the investment law No. 13 in 2006. This commission is related to Basra Provincial Council.
