Arif Tayfour, Second Deputy Speaker, discussed with Alexander Shawn Fielder, the German Charge De Affairs in Iraq, ways to develop economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The statement issued by the Office of Tayfour and received by All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Sunday said that "Tayfour showed in his discussions with Alexander Shawn Fielder, the charge d'affaires of the German Embassy in Iraq number of issues and topics of common concern."
"Tayfour stressed the need to expand diplomatic relations between the two countries and discussed ways to develop economic and trade cooperation and encourage German companies to participate in the process of reconstruction and rebuilding Iraq," The statement added.
Fielder showed according to the statement on “The importance of legislation of a Convention of Investment Protection by the Iraqi Parliament for it will provides the opportunity for the large companies to fund the industries and service projects."
"The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Iraqi arena and the political developments and events happening in the Arab region and the Pacific region," The statement noted.
